A week off [hence the lack of input, sorry!] and what a week! World financial markets in 'free fall'; stock markets around the world plummet; governments 'pump' billions, neah...trillions of dollars in what appears to be a vian attempt to stop the turmoil....

Yet we all collectively hold our breathe for Monday morning when the world's trading markets open and our 'fate' is held in some Thomas Pink shirt clad young buck trader who has taken the tube to the heart of the city [whilst his white BMW 330i Coupe is
'repossessed' by the Finance Company....and no we has 'average' citizens haven't much sympathy with him as he realised his 6 figure bonus this year is not going to be a 'cert' this December....tough mate!]
We live in 'troubled times'...`and set to continue.....
 
One thing that i have found myself reflecting on this week is the obvious simplicity of the things that matter. Friends, architecture, food....yes me appreciating food! And not simply Adam Gray's Michelin star food but simple, quality well prepared food....
'classic' books, quality products, local walks, ....finding pleasure in those things [we] take for granted.
 
Things are getting tough....and they are going to get tougher....
 
Personally i'm going to 'bare my soul' ['again'... You cry!] Yes, i have [during my period of reflection] taken some decisions: Next week my bleoved Clio is in for it's 60,000mile service.... i have made a considered and deliberate choice of booking the Clio 'in' with my local family run garage..... Neil, James & their father..... in business for 12years....

Yes i could and perhaps should have taken to the Renault dealership.... but no i have put my money and 'loyalty'...and that is the key word.... with a business i know, understand and respect.

I have in the past 'banged on' about quality, making the right choices and selecting the right products and services. [After all i don't simply stick a pin in the A-Z London when i decide where to go when at my second home.] And it's not only my 'second home' but my Lancaster home too...... from here on in, please i beg of You, 'consider & reflective' on all the choices and decisions You make.
