Who's the turkey?
So how many people will join a gym in January? Well the answer is (if you’re into statistics), around 100,000.
Hard to believe then that the average fee payable throughout the UK is £50 per month that’s £600 a year!
Come on we’ve all been there (even if it is to look at the opposite sex, some even in the sparkly leotards). We start with great gusto, and then very quickly the novelty wears off, dark wet windy nights kick in, to many pies, perhaps a late finish at work? Stuff it, the sofa and TV look too good to miss. I’m staying in.
You won’t be on your own either! The average ‘New Year Member’ gym person will attend a gym (believe it or not) average 6 sessions per year. Really doesn’t add up does it. That’s £100 per session, hardly value for money.
Don’t get me wrong if I’m paying £100 a session I want something good in return, but hey that’s another story……
So options I’m looking at? Yeah I’m unfit (Andy calls me Shire), turbo training in the warmth and privacy of my own home is the way forward then.
30 minutes a night, in front of my trusty DVD player, Star Wars first then Jason Bourne, I've got it all worked out.
We’re shifting them by the dozen in the shop, starting at just £80.00 it’s gotta be the future, although there’s a computerised version in the shop which you get DVD quality graphics and can ride the Alps, take part in the tour. Please dont buy it as we all get on to warm up…….
