Friday ride write up in 'read more'

Ice Age 3
Feckin Freezin I tell thee............when the ride rolled out from Satterthwaite it was +1C....although it didn't stop two of the squad donning fingerless gloves......even Big Kev, allegedly the hardest man in the world.........ever........had his skull cap on........and with his peaked helmet looked surprisingly like Rod Hulls 'Emu' .
Out of the nine riders today, eight where riding Orange 5's, I was going to say that the Orange Factory would have been proud, although looking at the calibre of riding, Orange will probably be sending us some Specialized frame stickers in the post. Despite the cold weather it was a cracking day, so we headed for the east side of Grizedale to keep in the sun as long as possible and up Baz I's favourite climb, Breasty Haw, carrying on across the fire road and down through Great Wood near Dale Park and short tarmac ride then up the infamous track towards the Fox.
Pushing further on we headed for Moor top with the lights having to make an appearance for the decent down the North Face which saw the recent reacquainted Lord Wickenham riding like a man possessed, the thought of missing the cafe can bring the worst out in any man.
After the brew stop at Grizedale.........yep that's right........Badger take note........Brew Stop, we made our way up the stony track towards Hall Wood, it was now -2C the majority of riders gears stopped working, it was quite comical that some where stuck in high gears and some in low, hence some pushed up the hills and some pedalled furiously down hill looking like some kind of circus act.
So the finish was earlier than expected as the conditions were freezing by this stage, however Lee was a happy man as he could get home in time to practice his dance moves for the 'Stylistics' gig at Forum 28 that evening.
