Thursday Oct 4th Greenodd 7pm

Meet behind the petrol station just off the A590 at Greenodd, back to the White Hart for decent beer afterwards. Rides are down to 2, 21/2 hrs now its lights all the way, so maybe even his Lordship might grace us on this one. It's flat round Greenodd, right!

See you there

The Second Coming

After receiving an email from Andy at 2pm this afternoon informing me that tonight's ride was a 'short and easy ride' , I knew we were doomed. The big news tonight was the return of Lord Wickingham and Peter Judge, the last time they were good enough to spend some time with us was mid summer, however its alright cos to break them in it was going to be a 'short and easy ride' . So, a lights start tonight, however the temperature was quite mild compared to last week so across the flats towards Moor Wood at the mandatory 25mph, across the A590, up the killer Lane Ends climb and down towards the rocky switchbacks out the back of Whitewater. Later, on the beginning of the Town End decent, myself and Richard were enjoying a leisurely pace riding side by side, and who came blasting through the middle of us both without warning............Big Kev..............out of control..........all over the track, unclipped, one leg out skidding round the corner pretending he was 'Gary Havelock' at Middlesbrough circa 1985. No shame that lad, no shame. Richard still 'peaking' with his excess unused energy, toyed with Tim Martin like a schoolkid with a 1/4 of midget gems, every time he shot past him it was a red rag to a bull. Lord Wickingham punctured over Canny hill, but as you can imagine after a few months away from the saddle, he came well prepared, the spare tube he was carrying was from his lads BMX!!!!............I reckon his butler is in for a right bollocking. Best of all over Canny Hill was Andy decking it big stylee, it had been coming all night as he'd been elbowing people and muscling his way round the ride. It was noted that Nigel was missing in action again. One of the squad said he had to cover for an ailing chef, However Big Al reckons he's never been the same since he overtook him (with ease) over Beacon Tarn a few weeks back, however Big Al doesn't believe the rumour that later that night Nigel did shed a a few tears over this episode..........although would like it to be known they were Nicko's words, not his, and will gladly forward Nicko's contact details if required
