Yes, we've all gone ''GLOBAL''.... The Earth is now a ''Village''....
It truly is a very 'small place'.... You only need to check the Google maps or simply revert to the old style Atlas to realise that.
We are all influenced by ''global' trends and happenings....and no i'm not going to review the new A/W Menswear Collections just shown at Milan and Paris.... [did i mention 'Gold'?] well not in this 'update' anyway... [i do so loathe the word ''Blog''!]
A dear friend of mine, who lives in Australia, has gone to assist with Aids/War 'casualities' in Rhwanda, Africa, with a Humanitarian Group.
[And this guy is a fully paid up ''80's style Yuppie! Porsche, Blackberry etc... so that was a shock for starters!] and this got me thinking in a 'left field' way simply how 'accessible' our earth has become.
Looking back over the last 10years of Biketreks Ltd we have had our very own ''challenges'' in providing an answer to some far away requirements. Last summer we received what could only be described as an 'SOB' call [Save Our Bike!] from Richard & Claire in the middle of India.
One of their bikes needed a wheel..... within a working week the wheel was at a Post Office in India awaiting collection.
Currently we are working on providing a 'key' for a Kryponite lock to ''our Man, 'A''' in Kazakhstan....and previously we've sent boxes of supplies to 'A' in places as remote as Tanzania and the ''outback'' of South West London!...[south of the river Thames! Now that is remote!]
Then there has been a bike build on the 'hot' beaches of Costa Rica [via Blackpool!] There is a link!...
BFPO in Cyprus, Middle East, Germany.... a 'proper' like 'tight-knit' Unit we are! We're even flying with the RAF!
Australia, The US of A, mainland Europe [watch out for Biketreks Ltd France!.... Clio anyone?.... Morzine is a hotspot for bike breaking & repair! Not too mention 'chic' Biketreks provided 'capsule clothing collections' for the discerning French clientelle!] In fact just about every continent has at some time or other had an iconic Biketreks bag arrive within its boundaires....
Nowhere would appear to be too far.... i think i'm right in saying we have a client who worked for the British Antarctic Survey and something tells me 'Mike' would have taken a Biketreks bag with him!
