Finally cycled into Nice, after 12 days in the saddle. Climbed the 24km of the Bonnette pass, the highest tarmac pass in europe. Then the longest downhill ever............over 77km, shame we had a massive headwind. Got mixed up with a French gruppo and ended up thru and off at over 55KPH, it was a guided group, but the leader still put the hammer down! Thats it for now, more to come.

Andy's away for cycling for two weeks, heading out from Ulverston on Sunday 22nd July, so I thought I'd hijack his blog (and his desk).

Andy may well threaten to get the scales out to weigh his 'heavier' staff, but I say catch me down hill...let gravity take control, let them eat pies..little whippets feel the cold.

Loads of things happening at present, our big sale starts on the 18th August so loads of prep for that. Make sure you get here early as things are gonna fly out...

Really good to see the tour being wide open this year, will Rasmussen do it? Been some classic moments, who's was that dog?

It's the time to get out and ride even for us big boys, we did a 40 mile road route around the Solway plains on Sunday, fantastic day, glorious sunshine and very flat. Anyone in doubt about road bikes, take a leaf out of the Shire's book and try a Specialized Roubaix, so comfortable. Try it.

Its time for action.......................we've bought the scales.

Its May bank holiday, which should mean blazing blue skies and loads of great riding, however, the great British weather is as unpredictable as a Floyd Landis drug test. I wish I was riding today, but hey ho someones got to man the ship. Today we are marking down lots of great product to stimulate a few sales, and get you set up for summer. So lots of activity in the shop. We also have four lucky What Mountain Bike readers coming in to have bikes set up for the Mountain Mayhem event. Its like the start of a big race today, loads and loads of stuff going on, a big rush to be ready for the start, then, you settle into the event, find your speed, then slowly the pain builds up, you adopt a few tricks to shut it out, then, hey presto, all of a sudden its over. The finish, or time to go home!
