• 2:1 spoke ratio. That means that on the drive side of the rear wheel, there are 16 spokes, whereas on the non-driveside there are only 8! Sounds odd, but the reasoning behind it is that the driveside takes more forces through the act of the rider pedalling, so with double the number of spokes, it helps to reduce stress and fatique on the spokes.

What we think:
This is Fulcrum's top of the line wheelset for mountain bikes. As such it has some top end features - tubeless ready, the rim is even machined out between each nipple so to help reduce weight. A top wheelset that is a bit different to your usual Mavic / Shimano wheelset.
